Did you know that fabric has energetic properties and can affect your whole vibration?
Natural fabrics like cotton, linen, and silk have a higher vibration than synthetics like polyester or nylon.
For example, silk is associated with luxury, abundance, and protection. Wearing it will amplify personal power and confidence. It’s a great one to wear to enhance spiritual connection and promote feelings of self-worth and luxury.
So obviously, it’s one of my favorites!
However, silk’s not always practical to wear everyday because of cost and care (between my kids and my dog it’d be like ), but I love to have it in a few pieces that enhance my overall feeling, like my pillowcase!
I’m incredibly particular about my bedding and they are about the most expensive and luxurious items I have in my house. Including my silk pillowcase that makes me feel like a queen!
I upgraded our pillowcases a few years ago and love the health benefits for my skin, hair, and most importantly, my soul. Slipping into bed with silk is rewarding, calming, and helps me sleep more easily.
Seriously, I have a hard time getting into bed if it hasn’t been made that day.
The same is true about what we put on our bodies – the kinds of fabrics/textiles we adorn ourselves with. It doesn’t mean we need to only wear expensive luxury items, but paying attention to how something makes you feel when you put it on is helpful in intentionally creating a vibe for your whole day.
Cheap polyesters have a time and place and can be soooo fun for statement pieces or special occasions, but I think it’s always great to have an assortment of options. For example, I wouldn’t go to sleep in a pair of cheap polyester pajamas – even if they look cute. They’re hot and uncomfortable, and they don’t match a luxurious, well-rested persona that I want. So for sleepwear, I have a few high quality bamboo or cotton pieces that drape right and are soft, and I launder them with care. I feel much better getting into bed at night and waking up in the morning in fabrics that hold such high energy.
So make small changes, and see how you feel. I always suggest starting with high quality pajamas. Notice the difference in how you feel when you wear baggy, pilled pants and an oversized, old ratty tshirt to bed, versus a comfortable, drapey and fitted soft bamboo set, maybe with a soft satin robe for the chilly mornings when you’re drinking your coffee or tea or meditating.
Try it – you’ll feel a difference.
And p.s. – if you’re looking for quality bamboo/tencel bedding, my favorite company is Ettitude. (No, I don’t affiliate for them – I just believe in them that much!) All of my bedding, from the mattress protector to my pillowcases, are from there.
